Hello again my dearest foodies, and welcome to another episode titled "me trying to munch my way through London!". Today I bring you a quick restaurant review from the lands of High Street Kensington, home of the best Whole Foods branch known to the UK, and the perfect mid-shop lunch location.
Bone Daddies is very much a new-comer to the High Street Ken territory, but they are no stranger to the London market. They started their conquest for world domination a few years back in the central London area of Soho, and have since then begun an expansion out to new horizons. They specialise in ramen and have really taken the concept to new levels with their genius contemporary style. For those of you who arent aware - ramen is a Japanese noodle soup dish, and is probably some of the best food you could eat on a cold wintery day. Having recently been invited to the new Bone Daddies branch (located right above Whole Foods, yummy!) I leaped at the chance to get a hot bowl of goodness in my belly following several weeks of suffering from a massive cold.
The menu is a great mix of traditional and exciting new ramens, and the snacks are worth having a look at if you feel like taking a tour around the land of Asian cuisine. I was given some great suggestions by the waiter and the service itself was perfectly acceptable. I like it when I never find myself turning around to catch the attention of the waiter. Always know your customer's needs before they start to feel ignored.

I must admit that the last thing I expected to be handed as a starter in a Japanese themed restaurant was a Pork & Truffle Gyoza, but hey, I like surprises. Gyoza is a type of dumpling, and is most commonly seen in Chinese restaurants. The gyoza was good, but was a little bit too crispy. I like it when dumplings are thin, juicy and soft. However, I did like the modern combination of both juicy pork and delicious truffle.

If you aren’t ready to jump at their food, then why not try out their sauce? The Bone Daddies bar is a great place to take a rest from all your hard earned shopping. I can certainly vouch for their drinks!

I was very pleasantly surprised when I was handed a curry ramen (two foodie worlds that I have never ever thought about combining). The result was a nuclear weapon of mass destruction for any cold or flu that I might have had, and the taste was unbelievably good. The only thing that was a bit of a shame was that the ramen was a tiny bit oily, but otherwise it was a fantastically flavourful experience.

Mochi is Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice, and it is the perfect end to a meal. Think of it as a Japanese ice cream, wrapped in rice. Bone Daddies offers a brilliant selection of these beautiful little pallet cleansers, and they really placed the cherry ontop of the evening.
I would recommend Bone Daddies to anyone who is looking for a ramen house with a cool style and a mix of contemporary dishes. It is the perfect place for a quick meal and a casual drink in-between shopping trips (it helps that it is located right above the chosen land – Whole foods).
If you loved Bone Daddies Soho, then I suggest you shake that belly over to their High Street Kensingten branch!
